Keven Lock - Artist

Keven’s current abstract / non-objective work manifests from the internal, inquisitive, spiritual dialogue that drives his art practice.

Always experimenting, Keven is engaged in re-emerging as an artist through creating a new body of work.

Combining painting, drawing and collage, Keven populates his surfaces with personal marks and symbols that speak to him as entities and ideas and reveal narratives in their making.

A long time Brooklyn resident, having enjoyed a 40 year professional career designing and painting for television, film, and theater, Keven now makes his home in Washington State.

Keven has recently shown in Shelton and in Tacoma where, in 2019, he presented  his installation/performance event “(ART?) + TIME_GANTRY” at Tinkertopia. He has also shown in Sarasota, FL, and in N.Y.C.

Keven has created many original art works featured in stage and film. His "in the style of” show of abstract expressionist paintings can be seen in the film Going All the Way starring Ben Affleck. Also, two of his paintings were commissioned to hang in the WNET Studios at Lincoln Center.

Keven studied art and design at TCC and Florida State University in Tallahassee, painting with designer John Scheffler, and painting and sculpture with Jack Cartlidge.

He is a member of United Scenic Artists Local 829.
